Exploring Tuscany / P9070049
The deep gorges that surround the town on three sides form a natural bastion for this little kingdom. We park outside the town and head off across the valley to the smaller town of Sovana. Much of the walk is along via cave (the so-called Etruscan sunken roads) about 60 ft in depth and 10 ft wide !!! Sorry, forgot to snap some pics I was so fascinated.
